I must admit, we don’t go to much trouble for Valentine’s Day. It’s so commercialised here in Australia that I’m a bit put off the whole idea of ‘we are telling you to be romantic today so go and buy some flowers or chocolates!‘
BUT…I do love any excuse to have something sweet and this little treat can be whipped up in a minute! It is perfect with berries, but also yum with pineapple, cantaloupe or even just an apple, orange or banana if you’re desperate. It’s pretty good straight off a spoon too…just sayin’!
I originally made this using fromage frais when we lived in the UK. It’s almost impossible to come by here in Australia, but Greek yogurt or strained yogurt works just as well.
Chocolate Hazelnut Dip for Fruit
makes about 2/3 cup
1/3 cup Nutella
1/3 cup Greek yogurt
I didn’t measure this out exactly, but I used equal volumes of each.
Put Nutella and yogurt into a bowl and mix with a spoon until well blended. Chill until ready to serve.

As an American, I had no idea what Hot Cross Buns were. I only knew them from the nursery rhyme. Now, I am very intrigued to try them. That and Sticky Date Pudding. It sounds like something served at Hogwarts!

They are sooo yum Amelia! Do you have raisin bread in the US? It’s a similar flavour to that. Yes, sticky date pudding! You HAVE to try that. It’s amazing! And exactly like something they would serve at Hogwarts! Now you’ve got me craving a butter beer…whatever that is?!

We do have raisin bread, but I’ve only had store bought. And, I have had butter beer, it’s like butterscotch rootbeer – I found it at a specialty soda store in Los Angeles. It’s not that great actually…

Hi!! Thank u for this. My son has severe eczema and I have been trying to find something like this to add on to most of his shirts/PJs so that he’s not always scratching himself. I will definitely give this a try 🙂
