Today I’ve got some selfish sewing to show you! This pattern is part of the latest collection from Figgy’s. The Heavenly Collection contains a modern take on staples for girls and it includes a few patterns in larger sizes too! I have admired Shelly’s patterns from afar for a while, but now that some of her patterns come in larger sizes, I’m very excited! You can view the full collection here. I love the clean lines and easy feel of the patterns. The simple lines mean it’s easy to put your own spin on the patterns.
The designs are loose and flowing, but I generally prefer to wear fitted clothes. With a few simple changes to the Seraphic Raglan, I was able to get the result I was after. I made the top up in a S, graded to a M in the hips, with the length of the L. Next time, I’d make the length of the XL, just to keep the post-baby belly safely hidden away. It fits just how I was hoping it would! And as Lauren says, I think me telling you the size I made is useless unless you know my size…so my current measurements are 36-26-36 and I’m 5’4” short tall.
For the tee fabric, I used two of hubby’s old team-building tshirts. They had some silly logo on the back, so I used the back of each for a sleeve and the fronts for the front and back panels. The pocket is a scrap of Liberty knit leftover from my underwear making adventures. The pocket in the pattern has raw edges, but I wanted to turn my edges under so added a seam allowance to the sides and bottom of the pocket.
The pattern is easy to follow and includes some great tips along the way. For the first time, I used a stabiliser in my hem and I love how it worked! It made the hem so much easier to stitch and it sits so nice and flat. I’m sold on the idea!
I love being able to add some fun basics to my wardrobe and this tee was such a quick sew! I will definitely be adding more of these to my very sad and bare wardrobe. I have to thank hubby for minding the boys for a couple of hours while I put this together. Must bake him a cake or something to say thanks and butter him up for another sewing session.

What a great idea to use old T shirts to make new ones! I’ve never thought of making my own T-shirt, but how wonderful to have one that fits so perfectly. I have my eye on the Stellar tunic for my daughter. Thanks for the opportunity to win a pattern!

Old tees are great! Especially hubbys…plenty of fabric and cool prints on them. Does mean I can’t throw any old tshirts out though…my re-make pile is growing quicker than I am sewing from it.
