Have you ever thought about how many people could have keys to your house? Unless you built the house yourself, then it’s probably more people than you realise. If you bought a house and didn’t get the locks changed, then the previous owners could still have keys to your house!
This idea freaked me out a bit when I first thought about it, so when I was contacted by Five Star Locksmiths to update my locks, I jumped at the chance!
It was much easier than actually having all the locks changed. I still have all the same locks, but the locks now require a different key to operate them. It’s called re-keying and is pretty cool. My favourite thing about it, is that I was able to have all my door locks re-keyed to use the same key! Before, I had 3 different keys and one door that I had no key to at all, but now I can open all 4 doors with the same key! My key ring is happy for the diet and I’m happy knowing that we are the only people with keys to our house.
The service provided by Five Star Locksmiths was great. They turned up on time and had no trouble sorting all my keys out for me. The guy was happy to answer all of Roman’s annoying questions too, which is always a plus.
Did you have your locks changed when you moved house?
*I was provided this service for free in return for a write up. As always, all thoughts, words and opinions are my own.

Genius idea. More people should think about this. We have 5 keys for our little apartment – of course most of them are for padlocks :-/

Thank you for this! I just handed down my Ergo to my cousin, but had only one of the pads that came with it. Now I can make her custom sets.

Sorry to hear you had trouble with the download. Google Docs can be a pain sometimes. Send me a message through my contact page and I’ll email it to you.
